Three-color dessert (Chè ba màu) is among the 100 best desserts in Asia

Chè ba màu (Three-color dessert) is Vietnam's only representative in the list of the 100 best desserts in Asia, as announced by Taste Atlas.

Ranked 82nd, Chè ba màu received a rating of 4.1/5 points in the top 100 best desserts in Asia.

According to Taste Atlas, Chè ba màu is a colorful dessert, typically featuring green, yellow, and red hues, and is a popular dessert in Vietnam. Its ingredients include pearls, lotus seeds, red beans, chestnuts, and jelly. Coconut milk is an essential component, often topped with banana, crushed peanuts, or other toppings. The dish can be served either hot or cold.

Many believe that a Cantonese dessert called "tong sui" is the predecessor of Chè ba màu. The dessert is often referred to as "rainbow dessert" due to its three distinct layers: yellow (mung beans), red (red beans), and green (pandan jelly).

In addition to Chè ba màu, Taste Atlas also suggests other Vietnamese desserts like Chè bắp (sweet corn pudding), Chè bà Ba (Ba Ba sweet soup), and Chè đậu đen (black bean sweet soup).

At the top of the 100 best desserts in Asia is Dondurma – Turkish Ice cream, believed to originate from the city of Maraş.
